The Travel Industry Conference has been structured by industry leaders Modern Agent Magazine and by the regional chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents to provide valuable learning opportunities, financial incentives, face-to-face meeting times between exhibitors and travel agents, as well as a lot of fun, food and music.

Events begin Friday, March 23, with a luncheon ($10/person) for travel industry professionals. Admiral George Naccara, the regional Federal Security Director for the Transportation Security Administration, will provide a keynote address, followed by audience Q&A, on how travel professionals can prepare their clients for an enhanced, safer travel experience.

Selling Gay & Lesbian Travel (3 CEUs) – Workshop offered by The Travel Institute and PlanetOut, Inc.
Selling Cruise Packages – Panel presentation featuring cruise executives on new amenities, selling mainstream and niche cruises, and upselling from contemporary to luxury.
Putting a Face to New England Travel – Tips provided by travel writers on how New England destinations, inns and resorts can generate effective press opportunities.
Using Technology for Effective Marketing – Expert panelists focus on search engine marketing, email marketing, database marketing, etc.
Marketing for Home-Based Agents – A panel of suppliers grassroots marketing efforts that work, including viral marketing, event marketing, travel nights, etc.
Selling Resorts & Rooms – Top executives examine the growing market and implications for travel agent sales for all-inclusives and resort packages.
   
 

After the seminars, the show floor will open from 3:30-7:00 p.m., exclusively for the travel industry.
On our informational stage, we’ll provide updates from various islands of the Caribbean, courtesy of the Caribbean Tourism Organization and Caribbean Hotel Association.

Friday evening will highlight with an Opening Reception for the travel industry, and cultural music provided by one of our show sponsors.
